Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) Systems

Scalable Power. Long-Term Assurance.
Tri-Star’s Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) Systems represent a highly engineered solution for long-term corrosion control, particularly for critical infrastructure in harsh marine and subterranean environments.
Unlike sacrificial anodes, ICCP systems deliver controlled direct current (D.C.) from an external power source—such as a transformer rectifier or thermoelectric generator—through a network of durable, inert anodes. These anodes are constructed from high-performance materials to ensure longetivity and efficiency even in the most aggressive environments, including
- Silicon iron
- Platinized metals
- Lead-based alloys
- Graphite
Maintaining a steel structure at a protective potential of –0.80 volts (or more negative) ensures complete mitigation of metal loss due to corrosion—extending the asset’s service life and safeguarding capital investments. ICCP systems offer the advantage of being easily upgraded or expanded over time, ensuring consistent protection even as operational demands evolve.
Beyond traditional corrosion threats, ICCP systems are especially effective in mitigating accelerated deterioration caused by:
- Dissimilar metal contact
- High-velocity fluid impingement
- Biogenic corrosion from sulfate-reducing bacteria
- Stray D.C. current interference
